The Allen-Bradley 1785-CHBM is a ControlNet Hot Backup Memory Cartridge designed for PLC-5 ControlNet controllers. Installed directly on compatible PLC-5 processors, the module enables hot backup functionality, allowing a secondary controller to automatically assume control if the primary controller becomes unavailable. This redundancy capability helps maximize system uptime and operational continuity in critical industrial applications.
The 1785-CHBM provides non-volatile memory storage and is specifically designed for use with ControlNet-enabled PLC-5 systems. It is commonly deployed in power generation, oil & gas, chemical processing, water treatment, and other mission-critical automation environments where controller redundancy is required.
