Product Overview

The Allen-Bradley 1769-L32C is a dedicated ControlNet processor within the CompactLogix family. It provides an ideal solution for small to medium-sized applications that require integration into an existing ControlNet network architecture. With 750KB of user memory, it excels at managing local I/O and peer-to-peer communication in legacy industrial environments.

At Xiongba Automation, we specialize in Hard-to-Source Legacy Hardware. We understand that for many plants, upgrading to a modern Ethernet system is too costly. The most efficient path is a direct "Like-for-Like" replacement with a verified 1769-L32C. We provide the reliable hardware you need to keep your legacy lines operational.

Technical Specifications:

  • Network: Integrated ControlNet port (BNC Connectors).

  • User Memory: 750 KB.

  • I/O Capacity: Supports up to 16 local 1769 modules.

  • Serial Port: 1 x RS-232 (Channel 0).

  • Battery: Requires 1769-BA for memory retention.

  • Storage: Supports CompactFlash (CF) cards for non-volatile backup.

Verification & Risk Control

Since this is an older generation controller, Xiongba Automation implements a high-standard audit:

  1. ControlNet BNC Port Audit: We inspect the BNC connectors for any physical damage or oxidation. A solid physical connection is mandatory for ControlNet stability.

  2. Battery & Capacitor Check: We verify the internal battery connection area for any signs of old battery leakage (acid damage). We recommend installing a brand-new 1769-BA battery before commissioning.

  3. RS-232 Serial Port Test: We check the pins on the Channel 0 serial port to ensure they are straight and clean for local programming or DF1 communication.

  4. 12-Month Hardware Warranty: 1-year B2B warranty is standard. Note: This covers the hardware. It does not cover data loss due to an expired battery or "ControlNet Scheduling" errors in the software.

  5. Global Traceability: We provide clear photos of the Series and Revision (e.g., Series A, Rev 1) to ensure the hardware matches your RSLogix 5000 project.

Project Lifecycle Support

  1. Maintenance Stage (Urgent Replacement): If your L32C has failed and your ControlNet network is down, we prioritize these orders for immediate video verification and express international shipping.

  2. Procurement Stage (Real Order):

    • Share Your Target Price: Because this is a legacy item, market prices can fluctuate. Share your budget, and we will work with our global network to find a unit that fits.

    • Live Video Proof: We can show the unit powering up and the "OK" LED status to give you 100% confidence.

RFQ Checklist

  2. Required Series/Revision: ___ (Crucial for legacy compatibility)

  3. Quantity: ___

  4. Project Stage: Maintenance or Procurement

  5. Target Price: ___ (Recommended for real orders)

  6. Photo of existing unit label: Required to verify your hardware version.

FAQ

Q: Can I use the 1769-L32C to replace a 1769-L32E? A: No. The L32C uses ControlNet, while the L32E uses Ethernet. The physical wiring and software network configuration are completely different. Always replace with the exact part number.

Q: Does it include the CompactFlash (CF) card? A: We supply the CPU hardware. While some units may have a CF card included, we recommend purchasing a fresh industrial-grade CF card if you require non-volatile program storage.

Q: My "BATT" LED is red. Is the unit defective? A: Not necessarily. A red BATT LED usually means the 1769-BA battery is low or missing. As a hardware supplier, we recommend you always install a fresh battery upon receiving any legacy controller.
